As it can get crazy….

  1. Don’t compete with brands who are not in the business to make money. Even EGS projects need to just ROI
  2. Help your media friends; they run around casing for stories. Offer them content, food, and drinks. Connect with them as humans.
  3. Don’t bad mouth your competitor.
  4. Meet people outside your industry or domain to get out of the bubble and get a different perspective on tech and life.
  5. Rest and be kind to people you encounter.
  6. AI is not taking over the world; it will just be part and parcel of every product. It will make our life easy and efficient, and it will be a must-have feature!
  7. Cut through all the noise and be straightforward with all the business proposals, saving people’s time.
  8. Dress up colorful; we need some at the trade show.
  9. Take care of your mental health. Spend some time after the trade show to reflect on everything.
  10. The media landscape has changed dramatically, pay attention.
  11. Share the press kit under embargo with the ones who have signed the NDA
  12. Not just throw a lavish cocktail party, but also feed your media friends.
  13. Many companies schedule new product announcements around major trade shows, but with hundreds of exhibitors competing for visibility and attention, standing out is essential. Determine how to position your news announcement to generate interest by hosting media pre-briefs, seeding review units, and exclusive access to the booth area.
  14. Organize your press interviews inside the tradeshows if possible.
  15. Even if you are the one to sponsor a few media to the tradeshow, give media the flexibility during the tradeshow to cover brands and stories they are interested in.
